Community colleges not producing enough health workers

Cañada College student Brian Lee was learning to take the perfect picture Friday.

He checked that his subject — a fellow student — was in the right body position and his instrument had the proper angle.

Their teacher gave Lee some advice on the gear, though. "Your distance right now is too much," she said, "so bring it down a little."

The kind of image Lee would be taking will not yield a work of art, but it could help save a life.

Lee and his classmates were working with X-ray machines during a lab session at the Redwood City campus and are studying to be radiologic technologists.
