In close partnership with the City Manager’s office, the Future Sturgis initiative, the Sturgis Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce, the Director, Community Development will facilitate all aspects of economic and community development for the City of Sturgis. Responsibilities will include planning, zoning, code enforcement, and strategic growth and development. More specifically, this role will develop, facilitate and direct the achievement of the City’s comprehensive development/redevelopment plan and will serve as a liaison for the business community and public agencies. This position will assist with administration of and compliance with processes, ordinances, and policies as established by the City of Sturgis, the Community Development Department and the City Council. Additionally, this individual is responsible for project financing coordination, preparation and administration of tax increment financed projects, land development, land acquisition, and disposition of properties for development purposes.
