City Club Missoula – Missoula leaders outline vision for growth and infrastructure at the Wye

At a City Club Missoula meeting on Monday, the future of Missoula County’s Wye area was the focus as local leaders outlined how a newly adopted infrastructure plan seeks to accommodate housing and industrial growth while preserving the region’s quality of life. The discussion followed the county commissioners’ recent approval of the Wye Infrastructure Plan, a long-term strategy to expand and improve roads, water and sewer systems, stormwater facilities, parks, public safety services, and schools to support anticipated growth in western Missoula. Community and economic development director Andrew Hagemeier said the county is addressing two urgent issues at once—a persistent housing shortage and a dwindling supply of industrial land—while planning decades into the future, noting that Missoula’s high quality of life continues to drive growth and demand.
