Bozeman, Montana’s Museum of the Rockies tech experts remodel “Big Al” the dinosaur’s face. (And Dinosaurs Were Colorful)

The Museum of the Rockies is getting a boost to bring one of the world’s most famous dinosaurs to Bozeman.

The exhibit centers on Big Al, a famous allosaurus fossil that became well known through scientific research and television appearances.

“It was collected in the early 1990s, was prepared, put on exhibit, found out how complete it was, and it had all these healed injuries showing that it had a really rough life. It had infected bones and healed fractures and arthritis, and it had a tough life. Being a big meat eater didn’t mean it was an easy street,” said Scott Williams, the interim executive director at the Museum of the Rockies.
