Bozeman, Montana introduces citizen request traffic calming program for safer streets
February 11, 2026/
“It does cause people to want to pay attention a little more because it feels less comfortable than a big wide open street area,” said Danae Giannetti, with the city’s Transportation and Engineering department. “The intent is to just pay attention and be mindful that there are other folks out on the street.”
Residents can apply to have temporary traffic calming measures such as traffic circles, curb extensions or splitter islands installed in their neighborhoods.
