Bitterroot college may (WILL!) live to see another day. Your support is vital for proposed legislation for the Bitterroot Valley Community College

The Montana Board of Regents said turned down the idea of a community college in the Bitterroot Valley earlier this month.

However, when the Montana legislature gathers in Helena lawmakers could still say yes to the idea, having the final word on the issue.

The decision by the regents not to give their blessing to the Bitterroot College http://www.bvcc-edu.org/ was an important setback. But, lawmakers in Helena and Darby have a plan to make the college a reality anyway and also give the legislature the final word on community college proposals that already have the support of local voters.

"The community voted, they voted for it. They voted to raise their taxes in order to have a community college" said Montana State Senator Rick Laible of Darby.
