Billings Public Schools deploy electric buses to improve health and well being of students

The electric school buses are a first for the district and their transportation partner, First Student in Montana.

A grant of 3.2 million dollars from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) covered the cost of purchasing the buses and constructing the charging infrastructure.

Lindsay Gran, the Transportation Director with Billings Public Schools, said that the new set of wheels benefits not only the students but staff who also use the buses, and even the district’s bottom line.
