Bill to divert state film-industry promotion funds to Canadian trade center sparks opposition

About 20 filmmakers and others who benefit from the film industry packed a small meeting room Wednesday to speak against a bill that would cap the amount of money the Department of Commerce can spend to promote the state as a place to shoot movies, commercials and television shows and use the diverted funds to open a trade center in Canada.
