| Where we are today economically as a community is not where we wanted to be when we started 2020. But, before we hope for a return to our pre-COVID status, I want to challenge each of us to look beyond “economic recovery” as the goal. We must build beyond our prior status and prepare our community to be the strongest economy and the most attractive, thriving community in our region–positioned well to seize new opportunities. We’ve asked you each year to “build remarkable.” Now we are, together, called to Build Beyond, and the community and economic development possibilities for us are real and endless when we embrace that calling.
