The small crew at the new 406 Recycling stepped in to fill an electronics recycling void left by the closure of Helena Industries, which shut down after state budget cuts.

Owner Matt Elsaesser hopes that as his company grows, he can incorporate some of Helena Industries’ mission of employing people with developmental disabilities.

“Our hope is to provide more opportunities for them,” he said. “We want to employ some of the people we worked with before.”
