3,200 attendees at Summit pays off big time for motels, restaurants, bars, shops

Local motels filled and restaurants bustled with activity during last week’s Montana Economic Summit, which drew 3,200 visitors to Butte.
"We benefited because we had great exposure," said Jim Smitham, Butte Local Development Corp. director. "Where else do you have that type of horsepower in this community for two days?
"It put a spotlight on our town and the Montana Tech campus," he said. "Those are intangibles that you can’t put a dollar amount on immediately."
