Lattice Materials, a Bozeman-based manufacturer known for custom-grown silicon and germanium crystals and precision-machined components, plans to expand its operations with a new 80,000-square-foot facility that is expected to create 50 jobs over the next three years. The expansion is intended to meet growing demand for critical optical components used in aerospace and defense applications.

Company president Travis Wood said the new facility represents a key milestone in Lattice Materials’ growth, driven by rising defense investment and increasing global demand for high-performance, U.S.-made germanium optics, while also strengthening domestic supply chains and ensuring the availability of mission-critical technologies.
