JOB DESCRIPTION Summary

 

Position:                     Credit Analyst

Classification:             Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports to:                  Director of Business Development

Salary range:               $40,000- $45,000

We are a Montana State Certified Regional Development Corporation, the leader of our federal government Economic Development District and a USDA, EDA and CDFI lender.  Our community focused economic development efforts include business retention and expansion, business attraction, entrepreneurship, small business technical assistance, lending, gap/bridge financing, brownfield redevelopment, job creation and community revitalization. Position Summary:

The Credit Analyst works with existing and potential loan clients to develop loan applications, provides credit and financial analysis, works with the Director of Business Development to determine loan structure and prepares loan presentations for the Loan Review Committee. Success as a credit analyst will lead to advancement in loan management or business development.

 

Description of Duties:

 

As our Credit Analyst you will work with others to help the organization continue to grow our financing efforts to support entrepreneurs, small businesses, developers and non-profit organizations throughout Lake, Mineral and Sanders county Montana. With the benefit of on the job and class room training you will become responsible for preparing underwriting analysis for new loan requests which includes   analysis of financial performance, ratio analysis, risk rating and identification of key risks and mitigating factors. You will also write narratives on the credit worthiness of the loan proposal and present your work to the organization’s Board supervised loan committee. Once a loan is made you will support the borrower’s organization through routine servicing actions and you will maintain the organization’s relationship with the clients and our financing partners. In the course of completing these duties you will work closely with the organization’s small business technical service representatives who will assist clients in the developing and organizing the information you will need to evaluate a client’s credit worthiness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Desired Qualifications, Experience and Training:

  • A genuine interest in developing a career in community focused economic development.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, lenders, investors, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skills in preparing and presenting researched reports
  • Word and Excel skills.
  • A College degree in finance, accounting, or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to MWCDP mission of creating opportunity for all members of our community.

 

 

Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Normal office hours are Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.  Occasional evening or weekend work is required. Flexible hours are available with the permission of management.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to travel by car and, upon occasion, by plane.  The employee is regularly required to climb stairs, assist in setting up/taking down conference rooms, computers, screens, projectors, etc and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
