Program provides weekend meals for low-income kids
July 17, 2011 /
School personnel know that on weekends and over the holidays, some kids don’t have enough to eat at home. Summertime can be tough too, without regular access to school breakfast and lunch programs.
This year, the director of the Great Falls Community Food Bank has offered to supply non-perishable packs of food for low-income summer school students to take home on weekends.
"We were very excited to say the least," said Great Falls Public School Assistant Superintendant of Elementary Schools Ruth Uecker.
