Big Sky organizations receive $5 million in resort tax money

Organizations, departments and community groups in Big Sky were awarded more than $5 million in resort tax appropriations Wednesday.

The Big Sky Fire Department, which received $1.5 million, topped the list of roughly two dozen area recipients that ranged from the local post office to Morningstar Learning Center.

In its request, the fire department noted that the growth of the community and tourism demands increased resources.
