Missoula Design Excellence Project Workshop - 3/20 - Missoula
5:30 PM
DoubleTree Hotel
I am excited to invite you to the final community workshop on proposed architectural design standards and design guidelines for the Missoula Design Excellence Project on Tuesday, March 20th, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the DoubleTree Hotel.

The workshop will begin with a brief presentation followed by an open house opportunity to review and comment on the new recommended zoning regulations. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

As a reminder, the Design Excellence Project is aimed at promoting high quality design in Missoula's downtown and commercial corridors and includes a combination of design guidelines, design standards, and incentive programs. The consultant team started by exploring design issues with the community and identifying recommendations for tools to address building development in a summary Strategy Report. Based on that report, the consultant proceeded with developing potential zoning overlay standards for commercial corridors and the downtown as well as a design manual for additional design guidance, and these will be the subject of the upcoming community workshop. Please consider attending as we look forward to hearing from you.

The Draft Design Excellence set of Standards and the Guidelines Manual are available on the website at

Comments on the draft regulations can be submitted via web comments, emailed to, or by mail to City of Missoula, Development Services, 435 Ryman St, Missoula, MT, 59802.

Comments can be submitted through April 3rd. Hard copies are also available for viewing at the Missoula Public Library and the City of Missoula, Development Services office.
