Montana Natural History Center Goes Electronic

Welcome to the first issue of the Montana Natural History Center e-newsletter! This format will help us improve communications, while not using more paper. You’ll get a short monthly newsletter electronically. Starting in April 2004 look for our new magazine, Montana Naturalist. If you want to forward this electronic newsletter to friends who are interested in natural history, please do. Received this from a friend? Subscribe today. Wild Gift Bazaar Saturday, December 13th

Haven’t finished your holiday shopping? Join us on December 13th from 10 am to 4 pm for a great selection of natural history books and gifts. We have 11 local authors who will be selling and signing their books. Confirmed authors include: David Alt, Kate Davis of Raptors of the Rockies, Hank and Carol Fischer, Kerry Foresman, Donna Love, Dorothy Patent, Sherry Ritter, Robin Tawney, Pat Tucker and Bruce Weide from Wild Sentry. We will have readings and presentations throughout the day. Check our website for the schedule and a list of the terrific art and crafts vendors who will be offering their wares. We’ll also have some great raffle items including a wine basket, coffee package, a live Christmas tree, and cut tree from Marchies’ Nursery.

Montana Natural History Center Coffee

Hunter Bay Coffee Roasters will be brewing the new MNHC bird friendly, shade grown, organic, Smithsonian Certified coffee and it really tastes good. We have plenty of 1# packages available at the bazaar for only $10 a pound for MNHC members. You can order the coffee online right now from the Hunter Bay Website and Hunter Bay will donate a portion of the proceeds back to us!

Year-End Giving

If you haven’t made your gift to MNHC this year, NOW is the time to do it. Memberships make great gifts. In December when you renew or give a membership, you get a second membership free. You’ll be making an investment that will help us teach the wonders of science and nature. To make a gift or pledge contact us at [email protected] or you can give right on our website using your PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account, the set up is easy and secure!

Hickory Street Move Update

Help us turn this 80-year warehouse into a natural history center for all Montana. (See the building and get the story on our website.) Fresh from our successful fund-raising auction we’re continuing pre-development work on the building at 120 Hickory Street. We hope you will help us make this dream come true by making a gift or pledge today at [email protected].

Discover Something New Every Second Saturday

Join us for Saturday Discovery Days at the MNHC every second Saturday of the month. We offer presentations, walk and talks, and activities on natural history topics. January 10th’s topic is “What is Winter?”. Call or email for more information or to reserve your spot. Cost is $10 for members or $15 for non-members and includes refreshments
