Daines, Gianforte support STEM, sort of

U.S. Sen. Steve Daines and U.S. Rep. Greg Gianforte are surely gung-ho STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) guys; champions of technology.

Daines "helped grow" the RightNow Technologies company founded by Gianforte (Oct. 5 guest column). Yet as choking shrouds of wildfire smoke smothered Montana, they blatantly ignored the "S" part of STEM; blaming "environmental extremists" for this season’s swarm of wildfires. They’ve seemingly ignored or dismissed data-based input from scientists who actually studied what does and doesn’t exacerbate the potential for and spreading of wildfires.
