Billings Gazette Opinion: How to build up Montana in 2017

On the first day of the new year, The Billings Gazette editorial board looks forward to opportunities to improve our community and Montana quality of life. Once again, we offer an action agenda with issues that deserve attention in 2017.
Let us approach these issues with thoughtful, civil discussion. Montanans must come together to forge solutions that make sense for the people of our state. With relatively few residents and vast distances, Montana forces us to recognize that everyone is important. We need everyone in our workforce. We must help every student to graduate high school ready for college and career. We must steer workers to retraining and upgrading for their sake and for our state economy.
