Concerns rise over Republican Rep. Sarah Laszloffy’s education leadership role
Her own background and political views have Democrats and some Republicans worried about funding support, while also concerned she’s a pawn for the larger conservative agenda.
Republican Rep. Sarah Laszloffy http://leg.mt.gov/css/Sessions/64th/leg_info.asp?HouseID=0&SessionID=109&LAWSID=15252 says she has no intention of defunding public education during the 2015 legislative session, contrary to what some people are saying about her.
The 23-year-old conservative Christian legislator from Laurel is chairwoman of the House Education Committee and is a staunch supporter of school choice, with her own education coming from home schooling and private schools.
"I think the education I had in my life has prepared me well for where I am today," she said in an interview with the Tribune on Tuesday. "I do support our public education."
