TechMonster http://techmonster.co is seeking a Mid-Senior level software engineer to join a small DevOps team for a freight brokerage and logistics firm.​ Our engineers develop web base applications for internal business management as well as front facing applications for our customers and vendors.​ We run a balanced schedule of current system optimization/​maintenance and feature backlog with an agile and continuous development mindset.​ This is a full-time position based in our Hamilton office.​

Responsibilities

Groom the product backlog and collaborate with stakeholders during development

Define the functional and usability requirements for upcoming product development sprints

Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, code comments and clear code.​

Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.​

Protect operations by keeping information confidential.​

Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.​

Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.​

Requirements

Position requires a solid understanding of:

OOP

PHP

Javascript

SQL

Web Services

Git

As well as:

A disposition to prove excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.​

A love for metrics.​

The ability to work alongside non-programmers best described as good ol’ boys.​

Great to have but not required

Preferred candidates may also have experience with:
