Cutting-edge high speed internet connectivity arrives in Butte, Montana
Aerial installation of Fatbeam fiber optic cable on at least 600 poles around town will connect 12 "underserved" businesses to the fastest connectivity of its kind in the state.
The new cutting-edge high speed system is close to going online. Housed in the basement of the Montana Economic Revitalization and Development Institute, the server for the entire project will web out to Butte High School and 11 other partners that run the gamut from nonprofits and government to private businesses.
"Butte-Silver Bow and the Butte community will use this as an economic development tool," Kambich said. "It’s important that we have this project up and running before we replicate it. The priority is the school district."
