Funding Opportunity for Technology Equipment

Beaumont Foundation Announces Guidelines for Grants of Toshiba Hardware

Deadline: March 31, 2003

(Thanks to Tod Kasten for passing this along- Russ)

Established with funds generated by the settlement of the Shaw v. Toshiba class action lawsuit, the Beaumont Foundation of America, http://www.bmtfoundation.com/ is a not-for-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals by providing Toshiba technology equipment to historically underserved schools and communities.

The foundation will award grants in 21 states and the District of Columbia in 2003 and in the remaining 29 states in 2004. Montana is in the 2003 grant cycle.

The foundation has three distinct grant programs:

1) Community Grants of technology equipment to community-based organizations (Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations or government agencies that serve citizens at or below the poverty level as defined by U.S. Census Bureau thresholds are eligible)

2) Education Grants of technology equipment for schools (K-12 public, private, parochial, or charter schools where a minimum of 50 percent of students qualify for the National School Lunch Program are eligible)

3) Individual Grants of technology equipment directly to individuals (Individuals living at or below the poverty level as defined by U.S. Census Bureau thresholds are eligible to apply)

Applications will be accepted beginning January 6, 2003, and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their proposals and supporting documents sooner rather than later. See the BFA Web site for complete program and application information and for a list of available products.
