Creating jobs from bottom up – Align regional players to stimulate jobs

To keep good jobs in America and create valued new jobs, the federal government needs to invest regionally in the kinds of collaborations that are already producing good jobs in high tech, biotech and clean tech. Creating good jobs is a national problem, but locally is where we have unprecedented entrepreneurial potential.

Through collaborative effort, many regions have already begun to harness their assets to increase the ability of small businesses to keep jobs in their community and to grow new enterprises that can contribute to good job growth. America needs more of this to be globally competitive.

Some observers note there are already several excellent federal economic workforce and development programs in place. But the problem is for the most part they operate in splendid isolation from one another. Few federal incentives exist to create regional level platforms where multiple voices are heard and synergistic initiatives take place.
