The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009, includes a total of $7.2 billion in stimulus funds for broadband, including $4.7 billion for the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration "Broadband Technology Opportunities Program", and $2.5 billion for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service "Broadband Initiatives Program".
