10 tech developments headed for the mainstream

In his new book, "The Numerati," author Steve Baker explores the ways mathematicians and computer scientists are using this information to predict — and possibly manipulate — consumer behavior.

Baker will offer up his views Wednesday as a speaker at MIT’s Emerging Technologies Conference. While he’s in town, we asked him to predict 10 technological developments that will hit the mainstream. Here they are, in no particular order.
