Montana tourism industry tops $2 billion
April 9, 2006 /
Montana’s tourism industry crossed two major thresholds last year.
For the first time, more than 10 million out-of-state residents visited here, and they spent more than $2 billion, according to projections from the University of Montana’s Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research.
As they gather in Great Falls for a two-day convention starting Monday, Montanans involved in tourism and recreation are toasting that success and looking for ways to keep the trend moving in the same direction.
