Why are Montana’s Republican leaders so opposed to saving a huge natural resource that is an economic boon to an economically depressed part of the state? Its 600,000 acres are freely open to the public for recreation, camping and hunting along with 900 certified brucellosis-free bison. Just like the irrational opposition to Glacier park in the early 1900’s, the American Prairie Reserve will be seen as a cherished asset for the state and nation.
