Whittier Literacy Fairs tries to get kids reading early in Bozeman, Montana

Principal Jerry Bauer started the Whittier Literacy Fairs three years ago. The school holds three a year to get families involved and extol the virtues of reading.

“It’s a great idea — giving away books stimulates kids,” said Oscar Perez, who came with his wife and new baby to support his daughter, third-grader Arianna. She won a “365 Stories” book.
