Western Governors: Increasing Demands for Water Requires Greater Efficiency, Water Banking and New Infrastructure

Western governors meeting here this week discussed with private and government water experts how best to manage the increasing demand for water across the region in the face of dropping water levels. Potential solutions include greater efficiency, more water banking, and dealing with an aging water infrastructure.
Attending the meeting were Governors C.L. "Butch" Otter (Idaho), WGA http://www.westgov.org Chairman; Brian Schweitzer (Mont.); Bill Ritter (Colo.); Gary Herbert (Utah); Jim Gibbons (Nev.); and Governors-elect John Hickenlooper (Colo.) and Matt Mead (Wyo.).
