Vertical farm in Whitefish, Montana close to first harvest – The Farm at River’s Bend

The Farm at River's Bend

A unique take on farming is bringing fresh leafy greens to the Whitefish community and surrounding areas all season long.

Tim and Harline Moyer are the owner of The Farm at River’s Bend, and they are in the process of growing produce in their new vertical farming operation.

Vertical farming is the practice of growing crops in stacked layers. All of the farming is done inside a Freight Farms container. The container is equipped to operate a complete hydroponic garden.

The Moyers are encouraging chefs, local restaurants and community members interested in visiting the farm, volunteering or purchasing fresh leafy greens to contact them at 406-400-1956 or visit their website.

This 2-Acre Vertical Farm Out-Produces 720 Acre ‘Flat Farms’

According to Nate Storey, the future of farms is vertical. It’s also indoors, can be placed anywhere on the planet, is heavily integrated with robots and AI, and produces better fruits and vegetables while using 95% less water and 99% less land.
