University of Montana nationally recognized by The National Wildlife Federation for transportation options

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

The National Wildlife Federation http://www.nwf.org/
has given the University of Montana an award for its innovative and effective transit system as part of the Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming competition.

UM was one of eight schools honored from a nationwide pool of entries.

The award focused on the Associated Students of UM Office of Transportation http://www.umt.edu/asum/ot/ , created in 1999 by a student referendum as the only student-run transit system in the country.
