University of Montana launches new, improved Web site

The University of Montana launched a new, easier-to-navigate Web site http://www.umt.edu on Wednesday focused on better accommodating and attracting perspective students who, these days, rely heavily on the Internet to research colleges and universities.

Part of what sparked the reconstruction was the inability of President George Dennison and Vice President Jim Foley more than a year ago to locate the university’s “strategic plan,” or future goals and objectives, on the three-year-old Web site.

“It took us 20 minutes,” Foley said. “And we knew what we were looking for.”
