Unchartered waters: Legislature takes helm of Bitterroot Community College’s future

On Tuesday, Ravalli County voters approved the creation of the new community district by a vote of 6,280 to 4,450.
On the same ballot, voters turned down — by a vote of 5,871 to 5,200 – an 8.86-mill levy that would have helped pay for a new community college based in Hamilton.
The split vote has left officials and community college proponents in a bit of a quandary, but also optimistic about the community college’s future.
