University of Montana Interim President Sheila Stearns announced Monday that UM will "cautiously" budget $143.5 million for the 2017 to 2018 school year, nearly a $3 million drop from this year.
Stearns said she was confident the number could be brought within $143 million, mentioning that there was some previous discussion of a budget number dipping below $140 million.
