Telework Program Is ‘Game Changer’ for Women in Rural Utah
January 8, 2020 /
Holmgren is one of the 754 people who have completed Utah’s Rural Online Initiative program since it started in October 2018. In its first year, 73% of participants were women, according to Russell Goodrich, senior program coordinator. Both of his daughters have taken the course, he added.
The goal of the program, which is run through USU Extension and funded by the Utah Legislature, is to help train rural residents, particularly those struggling with unemployment and underemployment, to work remotely.
