State may expand Rural Idaho Initiative

The Idaho Commerce & Labor Department is soliciting proposals to expand a 5-year-old state-local partnership that pays for economic development professionals in more than a dozen rural Idaho counties.

The Rural Idaho Initiative, launched in 2001, has brought economic development staff help to Boundary, Shoshone, Clearwater, Payette, Idaho, Lewis, Washington, Adams, Gem, Boise, Franklin, Oneida, Bear Lake, Clark, Fremont, Custer, Lemhi, Gooding, Lincoln, Valley and Boise counties, the Department of Commerce and Labor said.
