San Francisco’s transit future is the best in the world, researchers say – What is your city doing?

San Francisco has been ranked as the top city for adapting to the future of transit for the second time, according to the 2024 Urban Mobility Readiness Index. Developed by UC Berkeley and the Oliver Wyman Forum, a think tank focused on solving global issues, the index evaluated 70 cities worldwide on factors such as accessibility, resiliency and innovation. San Francisco’s early adoption of robotaxis and efforts to electrify its bus fleet were key to earning the No. 1 spot.
