Samsung has unveiled its latest solid-state EV batteries, which promise a 600-mile range, 9-minute charging, and a 20-year lifespan.

Showcased at SNE Battery Day 2024, these batteries feature an energy density of 500 Wh/kg, nearly double that of current EV batteries. Initial batches have been delivered to manufacturers for testing, receiving positive feedback.

However, due to high production costs, these batteries will initially target the “super premium” EV segment. Samsung aims for mass production by 2027 and is also working on more affordable battery solutions.
