Request for Proposal (RFP): Short Video Storytelling– Economic Development Success Stories

RFP Purpose:
The Montana Economic Developers Association (MEDA) is seeking proposals
from qualified videographers to produce a series of short videos that effectively
tell economic development success stories from across the state of Montana.
Our goal is to highlight the positive economic impact of our members and
partners, influence key stakeholders, and inspire further growth and investment
within our communities.
About MEDA:
MEDA is Montana’s association of economic development professionals. Our
membership represents the depth of local and regional economic development
organizations, community development organizations, and industry partners
across the state. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we work to
create a positive climate for business growth and community prosperity.
Project Background and Goals:
Montana’s economic development community has made tremendous strides in
fostering business growth, talent attraction, infrastructure development, and
quality of life improvements. However, these successes are often untold or
underappreciated by the broader public, policymakers, and potential partners.
We aim to produce a series of high-impact, short-form videos that:
• Showcase compelling, authentic success stories from diverse regions and
demographics of Montana.
• Highlight the innovation, collaboration, and resilience of our communities
and economic developers.
• Inspire pride and advocacy among stakeholders, legislators, and citizens.

Scope of Work:
The selected marketing firm will:
Content Development:
• Select 8 – 10 stories from a diverse slate of economic development
success stories from MEDA members and partners representing a cross–
section of industries, geographies, and populations.
Production:
• Manage all aspects of filming in partnership with the MEDA, including on–
site interviews, b–roll, and location shoots across the state.
• Deliver professional–quality editing, graphics, music, and closed
captioning compliant with accessibility standards.
Distribution & Promotion:
• Prepare video assets for use across digital platforms (web, social media,
YouTube) and for MEDA/member organization use.
Deliverables:
• Project plan and content calendar
• 8 – 10 short success story videos (30 seconds – 3 minutes each) that are
social platform–ready.
Proposal Requirements:
• Introduction of videographer and relevant experience
• Team bios and key personnel
• Portfolio/examples of comparable video storytelling/campaign work
• Project timeline and key milestones
• 3 Client references
Timeline:
RFP Released: 8/27/25
Proposals Due: 9/15/25
Budget:
MEDA has a budget of $20,000 for this project.
Evaluation Criteria:
• Relevant experience and demonstrated storytelling expertise
• Alignment of creative vision with MEDA’s goals and values
• Team qualifications/capacity for travel and state–wide coverage
• Proven track record of impact on similar campaigns
