Rename the Chinese Wall? Montana group launches campaign for new name for Montana landmark

Rising from the spine of the Continental Divide is an ancient cliff wall that has come to be known as “The Chinese Wall.”

For close to a century this sheer cliff wall has been a destination of adventurers. Relatively few Montanans have actually stood in its shadow, but the allure of the Chinese Wall attracts hikers and sportsmen from across the country and around the planet.

Now, a group of local outdoor enthusiasts have launched a campaign to rename the Chinese Wall, changing its name to one that more specifically reflects the values and ethics of the people of Montana.
