Project WET International Foundation Donates $20,000 to Water Education Program in Argentina

The Project WET International Foundation recently donated $20,000 to the Argentina-based Asociación de Amigos de la Patagonia (AAP) for the development of a water education program for the children of Argentina.

Funds donated to AAP were made available through a donation to Project WET’s Children’s Water Education Fund, which connects donors to water education organizations around the world. “This generous donation gives our program a significant boost and supports our goal of helping AAP to educate Argentina’s children about the importance of protecting and managing water resources,” said Vivian Vignaroli, project coordinator for AAP.

In addition to cash support, Project WET and its partner the United Nations Education, Science, and Cultural Organization-International Hydrologic Program (UNESCO-IHP) will donate existing water education material for use in Argentina. AAP will build on its existing network of teachers and water managers, as well as use material from the joint Project WET/UNESCO partnership, to develop the new program. According to Dennis Nelson, President and CEO of the Project WET International Foundation, “At Project WET, we believe education is critical for developing future leaders. This donation is an investment in the quality work of AAP, but, more importantly, an investment in Argentina’s water and education future.”
