The Glacier Institute stands poised to win $50,000 to support a suite of outdoor-oriented community projects after the local nonprofit was selected as Montana’s lone finalist in the Tom’s of Maine "50 States for Good" program http://www.facebook.com/TomsofMaine .

The Glacier Institute http://www.glacierinstitute.org/ is a nonprofit outfit that offers hands-on science education to adults and children in Glacier National Park and the Flathead National Forest, and the contest is part of a national initiative to bolster community organizations that promote "healthy, human and environmental goodness," according to the Tom’s of Maine website http://www.tomsofmaine.com/home . The company manufactures personal care products, like toothpaste, that use natural ingredients.
