More than 100 years old, historic Winifred, Montana "ROY ROCERY" grocery store keeps town thriving thanks to Brad Bergum

The Winifred Grocery, which first opened in 1914, may not still be in business if it weren’t for California resident Brad Bergum making a philanthropic investment in his boyhood hometown.

In the process he not only preserved a key local venture, but also helped ensure at least one small Montana town still has a tenuous tie to its early homesteading history.
