Montana World Affairs Council
Bringing news of the world to Montana
and Montana news to the world
Welcome members, friends, and colleagues – we’re delighted to share our global news with you in this newly-minted newsletter format https://mailchi.mp/montanaworldaffairs/fundraiser-tonight-at-montgomery-distillery?e=cbcdc9b569 . We hope you enjoy the layout and the content and welcome your feedback.
These are exciting times at the Montana Council, as we begin a new year and new staff, who are no strangers to the global arena. In fact, our goal in the months ahead will be to connect all of us – adults and youth alike, with as much of the world as we possibly can in the most intimate and technologically savvy ways possible.
Another goal – to be as timely, cutting edge and on the frontlines of critical issues as time and opportunity allow. From a Global Water Crisis special program planned for March 29th at the Roxy Theater, sponsored by the Qatar Foundation and others, to our upcoming special program with the Eastern Congo Initiative creating student to student global conversations during Academic WorldQuest, to a British business luncheon we recently hosted for a small group of business leaders, now more than ever, we want to live up to the words of our mission — bringing the world to Montana and Montana to the world.
Another primary goal that we want to emphasize and which you will be hearing a lot more about — that is to reach greater numbers of rural youth and Native American youth with global affairs programming. We have the resources, we have the connections, but we need to build a deeper network and the financial support systems that will enable us to provide more access to more remote classrooms and communities. We also hope to be able to provide more scholarships that enable more students to come to the programming and the experiences that provide global exposure.
This means, we also need your support as well as ideas, input, and participation. Please join us as a member if you haven’t already or renew your membership and let’s keep in touch. We also provide dynamic corporate and business sponsorships. These are challenging times in the world, but with so many doing so much to impact global affairs, we want to ensure we are as connected as we can be.
Let’s keep in touch.
