Montana Outdoor Economy Grows 14%, 3rd Largest in the Nation

The Montana outdoor economy grew 14% from 2021 to 2022. According to the latest report by the  U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), outdoor recreation accounted for 4.3% of Montana’s gross domestic product, positioning the state third in the U.S. based on the proportion of its economy associated with outdoor recreation’s economic impact.
