Montana homeowners should apply for 2025 property tax relief by April 15

Homeowners in Montana have an opportunity for property tax relief in 2025. According to an official document from the Montana Department of Revenue, the Property Tax Assistance Program (PTAP) offers reduced property tax rates for those on a fixed or limited income.

The deadline to apply for this program is April 15. Qualifying applicants can receive a tax reduction of 30, 50, or 80% on the first $350,000 of their home’s market value. Eligibility is determined by home ownership, occupancy requirements, income levels, and marital status.
