Montana FWP works to increase firearm shooting ranges across the state

FWP put out a survey to find out if Montanans are interested in the shooting ranges.

The push is on to create accessible shooting ranges for the public in Montana — something one state department says is in short supply.

“There’s not a lot of access to come to a developed shooting range that’s open to the public. Of course, there’s a lot of public land that people are open to go and recreationally shoot on. But that obviously comes with its challenges as well,” said Samuel Hoggatt, shooting range development program manager with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
