Montana Cooperative Development Center, Inc. (MCDC) now located in Great Falls

Dear Cooperative Supporters and Friends:

The Montana Cooperative Development Center, Inc. (MCDC) has relocated to Great Falls, Montana. We are now located in a beautiful facility in the Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Building overlooking the Missouri River.

We have built some great capacity with the hiring of two new staff. Cheryl MacArthur is our Program Manager with eight years experience in economic development and Juanetta Keeler, our Director of Operations brings five years of experience in economic development.

We look forward to providing you with the best cooperative development technical assistance we can offer. Some of our services include: project planning and facilitation, legal document assistance, prefeasibility study and market analysis, capitalization strategies, professional referrals, and grant writing assistance.

We have numerous projects statewide with some including: Montana Branded Beef Association, Great Northern Growers Cooperative, and a group of producers looking into a vegetable processing cooperative in North Central Montana. Some of our non-agricultural projects include: two potential community clothing stores, a fitness co-op, art and quilt marketing cooperatives, and we soon hope to branch into home healthcare, and housing cooperatives.

We believe that the cooperative model can be used to bring about needs or services that are not currently being met in our rural communities by the private sector.

We are a resource available to you. We now have seven technical assistants located throughout the state to provide local, hands on technical assistance, and our partner Mission Mountain Co-op Development Center serving in Northwestern Montana.
