Missoula Fly-In Looking for volunteers on June 15-16th

Hundreds of aircraft, pilots and visitors will flock to Missoula for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Fly-In scheduled on June 15-16th.

If you are interested in seeing the event up close, the AOPA is looking for volunteers.

"AOPA is planning the Missoula fly-in, but the Missoula volunteers will bring it to life. Whether it’s setting up the main stage area, guiding cars and aircraft into their parking spaces, or taking down displays and exhibits at the end of the event, there are many ways volunteers help make the magic happen," said Chris Eads, AOPA Director of Outreach and Events.

The two day AOPA Fly-In scheduled for Missoula will bring pilots from all over the country for workshops, seminars, exhibits, lots of aircraft and the giant Barnstormers Party.
"The Missoula Aviation Community worked for 3 years with the AOPA to bring this event to Missoula," said Cris Jensen, Director of the Missoula International Airport. "The event will showcase Missoula and the entire state of Montana for aircraft owners. For anyone interested in aviation, volunteering at the Missoula AOPA Fly-In is a great way to see hundreds of aircraft and meet hundreds of pilots."

The AOPA is looking for volunteers in two areas – Airside Operations and Showside Operations.
Those helping with Airside Operations will be assisting with aircraft marshaling, parking, taking fuel orders, and aircraft camping. Due to the nature of the position, AOPA looks for certified pilots over the age of 17 to volunteer for Airside Operations.

Showside Operations volunteers will assist with exhibits, logistics, food, hospitality, security, auto parking, and sanitation.

"Missoula volunteers have the best seat in the house at the Fly-In," said the AOPA’s Chris Eads. "But volunteering isn’t all about hard work – it’s also about meeting other volunteers, seeing the fly-in from the "insider’s" perspective, and making new friends."
